B10 Software for valuation and quantification of ecosystem services
During this action, a specific instrument based on web-technologies will be elaborated which is addressed at the responsible authorities for the management of the Natura 2000 sites and which can also be applied by other administrations. The instrument allows to identify the ecosystem services related to different typologies including data of the beneficiaries. Based on the defined model during the actions B1 and B2, the instrument addresses the different questions related to the ecosystem service of Natura 2000 sites:
estimation of the ecosystem services flows (offer, demand)
impact of changes of the ecosystem services flows (due to climate, population, i.e. changes of the offer or demand of ecosystem services) – elaboration of possible scenarios
impacts of the management measures on the ecosystem services – elaboration of possible scenarios
The instrument will be organized as a WebGIS which allows to manage the cartography of the project (e.g., land use, hydrography, infrastructures, administrative limits, ecosystem services maps, etc.). The WebGIS will also serve as an instrument for communication and for sharing spatial data with other users.
B11 Guidelines for the application of the governance model MAKING GOOD NATURA
The aim of this action is to produce guidelines containing the procedures for the application of the model. The guidelines account for existing elaboration on international level as TEEB or IEEP. The guidelines will be available in Italian and English (via download from the website), addressed to the general public, but in particular to the managers and administrative authorities of the sites belonging to the Natura 2000 network. The activities and practical actions will be described in detail to allow the application of the model also in other geographic areas at national and European level.
