Val Grigna
The 2847.50 ha the Val Grigna correspond to the territory of the Regional Forest Grigna Valley, which extends over the municipalities of Berzo Inferiore, Bienno, Bovegno, Esine, Gianico, with elevation ranging from 1,000 m to 2,207 m of Mount Crestoso.
The landscape is typical of the middle and high mountains with wooded slopes which alternate with open pastures forming ten alps. Worthy of note is Rosello di Mezzo, where a Wildlife Education Center was installed in September 2003 thanks to an agreement between ERSAF and the Department of hunting and fishing in the Province of Brescia.
Among the elements of particular historical - cultural sign are a Roman bridge and the old mines of copper and iron from the seventh century B.C.
There are numerous forest roads linking the huts (Campolungo, Rosello and Fireplace of Cigoleto) and the neighboring municipalities, in addition to the different paths used for the transit of cattle. In the northern part of the Regional Forest, an important path called "Tre Valli Bresciane" links Step Maniva with Mount Champion and is used annually by hundreds of hikers.
